Sandor Kepiro, 97-year-old accused Nazi war criminal, claims Holocaust charges are trumped-up
"A 97-year-old accused war criminal, leaning on a cane as he hobbled into court Thursday, declared his innocence in the 1942 slaughter of 1,200 civilians in Serbia.
"I am innocent and I am here on trumped-up charges," declared Sandor Kepiro, identified by authorities as one of the last living Holocaust-era killers.
"This trial is a terrible thing," the frail Hungarian man continued. "There is no basis to this. Everything is based on lies."
What "authorities"?
If this man was a real war criminal he would have been prosecuted decades ago. It's not like a frail, elderly guy is running from safe house to safe house and the "authorities" finally were fortunate to nab him.
And let's pretend he's guilty as charged. What exactly will be done with him?
